Hi,
In the config of my gallery, under user setting I have set the option "Users can can have private albums" to no.
Also, in the "Groups" menu, the "Can have a personal gallery" option is also set to no, for all user groups except admin.
For some reason, despite these options being set, some of my users can still create personal galleries  :?
is there some other way to prevent this from happening?

Joachim Müller

the option set to "no" does only work if there are no existing user galleries. Get rid of those that exists and you should be fine. A link to your gallery might help, so I wouldn't just have to blindly guess, but take a look...

I moved the photos these 2 members uploaded to their personal galleries into the appropriate categories. Now its saying there are no user galleries even though on the main page it stats there 7 albums and 0 pictures. How do I delete the albums ?

Casper

Hi,
in admin mode, go to any album and click on the properties box.

Now at the top you will see the name of the album you are in, in a drop-down box.

Click on the dropdown box and you will see ALL the albums in your gallery, including the hidden 7 empty ones.

Click on each one, and delete it.

When all are deleted from the user galleries, the user category will no longer be shown on the mainpage.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Hi,
Yeah thats how I thought I would do it, but when I click on the "user galleries" link, this is what I am given (even in admin mode)

You still have permission for the admin group to have private, so the category is still shown.

Try setting admin group to NO as well.

Hi,
I just tried that but I still cant see any albums to delete??

Casper

Did you do what I said, that is first open the properties box of any of your existing albums, not one of the hidden ones.

Then use the dropdown box to find and go to the hidden ones, then delete them, as below.

You will see in this list the 7 albums made by users but empty.
Just select them 1 at a time, and delete them.

Hi,
Thanks for that. Ok..

I managed to find the drop down box. But have no idea how to delete them???

Casper

Sorry, forgot this is a pain, but will be fixed in next version.

Do as I said above, so you are in the properties page for one of the hidden albums.

Now click on the album link in the admin menu.  You should arrive at the album manager with the album you were in now shown.

Select it and then delete.

Do this for each hidden album.
