I was installed with Coppermine 1.4.4 and all was fine.  Suddenly this week the gallery stopped working.  All other pages on the site work fine.  In Firefox I get just a white/blank page.  In IE I get a page can not be displayed error.  I upgraded to 1.4.8 - still the same problem.  I also restarted my server and mysql.  Any advice?

I installed a new version on a new site - just to start fresh and see if I can get a clean install working. It did not install I added the mysql info on the install page and it just went to a blank screen.  I have 5 installations and they all stopped working.  I think I had a server update that must have caused an incompatibility.

The clean install is:

Anyone know of issues with current versions of php?  or other prereqs?

- do you create empty database?
- do you create a user with full privilages and bind it to db?
- do you provide correct password for that user?
- do you provide correct database name ?
- do you know your Mysql server host is "localhost" ?

Yes to all above.  I can give you a log in to access the site if that would help.

I got 404 not found after submiting the form!!!
even if I post clean form  (I did not put anything on it !!!)
do you have any kind of security mod on your server ?
- and also I think you should check your db username as your hosting control panel is Cpanel that user should be X_Y (X is your main username for Cpanle and Y is your new user)

I do not have a security mod - I had 4 coppermine sites working - and they all stopped -I did not modify anything - although my server is set up for auto updates.

I verified my username - and it is correct x_y - but I still get 404.

Any modifications to php that could have occured?

Ask your webhost about the changes/updates. If you're self-hosted, look up the logs and roll back the changes step by step to find the culprit.

My webhost company solved the problem:

"If you upgraded mysql you will have to also recompile php"

I recompiled php and all is well.

Thanks all for your support.

You failed to say so in the first place - I have another definition of the word "suddenly":

Suddenly this week the gallery stopped working.
Would have saved us a lot of time if you had posted this in the first place.
