Hi,

I want to have an album (or category) that:

1. does not display on the album list / last updated / most viewed sections for non-logged in users, but is still accessible seen by the administrator
2. Is still accessible by direct URL for a non-logged in user.

Point 1. is easy by setting the album property to "view only by me"

Trouble is that prevents point 2 from working.

Is it possible to achieve point 1 and 2 above?

Reasons I would like to do this:

1. I use copperminsc.php from my wordpress blog so I can reference pics in the coppermine database by ID number. Works a treat.
2. Some pics I don't want to have show up in my coppermine pages but just want them to be in there so I can still reference them from the blog.
3. One of the tricky parts is that I don't want these pics to be part of any "last updated" or "new additions".

So maybe there is an easy way to have a "storage" category or album so that pics would get ID numbers but not be displayed?

Would this be easy to do?

Thanks,
Matt.

Hmm, so thinking about this a bit more, there are currently 3 types of albums:

- public, anyone can view
- private, need to be logged in to view
- password, need the password to view

So maybe what I am asking is if there could be another type:

- hidden, can be accessed if you know the album/pic ID, but doesn't show up on the front page of albums/cats/last updated etc.

Does anyone else think this is a good idea? The usefulness would be for admins/users who want to use CPG to store a bunch of pics that they could access by direct URL, but not clutter up the main album pages. Not for security, just for convenience. The benefit is you get the nice CPG page layout, theme etc. I'm using <img> tags now it looks ugly/boring.

Comments?

Thanks!

Didnt this actually exist in an earlier version of coppermine? I am sure you could upload unseen images to the admin folder. We used it for reference images, banners ,cartoons etc that were used on the site. I may be wrong as we used photopost for a couple of years,

regards

Chris

Ps  If not it would be a great admission to coppermine
