i've checked the FAQ section, there is an article explaining this, but it seems it was written for the old 1.1, and theres a warning for not to use for a later version... is there a way to make it work for 1.2?

sorry, if this has been brought up before, (i've searched)

thanks in advance.  :)

what faq article are you referring to? Go to the faq and use the

The article from the faq you're referring to only applies to cpg1.1.0 and should not be used with any other version of coppermine. Since you're posting on the support board for cpg1.2 I guess you're using this very version, so be advised: the faq entry simply doesn't apply for you!

Some dropdown lists within coppermine have been "fixed" (or call it "enhanced") to display both category and album names, but not all of them yet; since they all differ slightly, there's no universal code to fix them.

This is on the dev team's todo-list and will (hopefully) be fixed in a future version (as well as an updated faq).

are the modifications suppose to be at searchnew.php ?

I am using cpg 1.2.1.. can I download 1.3 version and look for searchnew.php and replace the one at 1.2.1 version?

Thanks

no, the files from the 1.3 package should only be used together with a complete1.3 install. If you're running cpg1.2.1, you should keep the searchnew.php file that comes with your version. Your encouraged to upgarde your complete install once cpg1.3 stable will be released.
