Removing random pictures from sub-catergories

I've notice when you remove the random pictures from the main page, it also removes from the sub catergories.. but what I want to do is remove it from the sub catergories and leave it at the main page.. Is this possible.. I read the FAQ, documentation, and did a little search here on the board, but did not find anything about it.

this has been asked before - there's no way "out-of-the-box" to accomplish this, you'll have to go through the code and change some bits (maybe someone has already posted a hack to do this; searching the board might help).
