Hello all,

I have a concern dealing with real media mine type. I allow Real Media to be uploaded to my gallery. There is a file extention that associates itself with two different mime type in real media. The .rm can either be associated with audio (application/vnd.rn-realmedia) or some video files (application/vnd.rn-realmedia). My questions is this. Is there any way to change a setting to recognize if the file is a video or audio file so it will display the appropriate player?

Coppermine can't "look into" video nor audio files and therefor is not capable to decide wether it's an audio file or video file. So basically, the answer to your question is "no". Same thing applies to your desktop OS: a certain extension is mapped to a certain app. Double-clicking a file with that particular extension will always result in it being opened with the same app. Anyway, the real player itself should be able to determine if it's a video or audio file, so in the end, this is not a Coppermine issue, but one that the RealPlayer needs to "solve".
This is of course not the answer you have been looking for, so let's start looking for a workaround: I suggest forcing a download instead of trying to make coppermine display the real file "inline" on the page. This way, you force the desktop OS to handle the file. Change the filetype association accordingly.
