admin tools and resizing of intermediate-sized pics

i am upgrading to 1.3.2 --> 1.4.9 and i cannot resize normal size(normal_xxx.jpg) pictures.

i chanced thema ( project vii to grimm -thanks to Billy G Bullock ist very good job-). now i need to re-resize to normal size picture. (not thumbalin, only normal_XXX), enter the main settings and change default intermadiate size to 400 again,(before 900)

i login as admin and enter the admin tools, select resize pictures (all) and select all album,then click start
normal_blablabla.jpg ok
normal_blablabla.jpg ok
normal_blablabla.jpg ok

but result is same. there is no resized picture.why? (i delete all cache and use ctrl+F5 but there is no change)

chmod the pics to 666 and try again, eventually the folders to 777
