Thumbnails not showing

Hi. I'm very new to Coppermine + I still dont know much about it  I have overtaken a website which was run by somebody else. I've never come across Coppermine before. So anyway, I uploaded a picture to an album. I also made a thumb_.jpg and uploaded it to the same album. But its not showing?? Im sure there is a step Im missing because I keep reading about how other programs make the thumbnails for you, but Im just majorly confused 

Please help?!

Coppermine does make the thumbnail for you. Please post a link to the file that is not being displayed.

You need to update the gallery, it is a few versions behind current. (1.4.3 vs 1.4.9)
