I just got a new Mac and I have been able to properly install and configure MySQL, php, and I've also been able to install WordPress and get it running. However, when I run install.php for cpg I get a long message starting with, "You seem to be trying to install the standalone Coppermine into your Nuke portal." The archive that I downloaded was cpg1.4.10.zip.

Have I missed a dependency somewhere? I'm not really sure what php version comes preloaded on the Mac.

Cripes, never mind. I noticed that the address bar in my browser went from http://localhost... to file://...
