A gallery with a thousands pics

Hello!

I have gallery with more than 50 albums and more than 10.000 pics. Can I organize my categories in subcategories and the subcategories don't show in the index page?? Moreover, when I add pics with the batch tool, appear 50 albums...

A posible idea is install other alternate gallery and organizate by years, exahemple domain.com/gallery2006, domain.com/gallery2007 ... What do you think?
