I don't want to have User galleries .
How can I remove or hide it from all users ?

Joachim Müller

Disallow users to have personal galleries using coppermine's groups manager. Then get rid of the pics and albums already existing inside the user galleries section. Subsequently, when there are no albums inside it, the category "User gallery" will not be displayed. Has been asked before often. Is described in the docs. In the future, please read the docs and search the board before posting.

I hope I don't get fried for "hijacking" this thread ... I have looked in the manual on how to remove the "user galleries" - first you delete all pictures and albums inside it, then it dissapears ... only thing, when I click "albums" (from the admin-tool), it says that there ARE no pictures nor any albums ... and the gallery still won't go away! (and I have disalloud users to create "user galleries" in the "group-toolbox") ...

Joachim Müller

make sure you check this using a regular (non-admin) test user account. For the admin, the user gallery will be displayed no matter what. Toggling between "user mode" and "admin mode" is not an option to check this.

... user categori are still idsplayed. -It says that there is ONE album in the category (says so on the index), but I can't find it anywhere. When I use the "category" or the "album"-toolbox, it says that it is empty.

Stramm

if the album is empty you won't see it. For that click 'properties' next to any visible (public) album. Now you'll see a dropdown box on the top right side. Look for user galleries here. User galleries can be found looking for () and the users name in it. Like '(Stramm) My Album'. Select the album, then click 'parent category' (left of the dropdown). Magic... you'll now see the empty album and can hit the 'delete' button

A-HA!!!!

It works - thank you VERY much, Stramm!!!

Charity

okay it says there are 2 albums in it: http://bynes-source.net/gallery/index.php?cat=1
but when i go in there. i dont see any albums in it.

Stramm

Charity

i did and you said For that click 'properties' next to any visible (public) album.
i cant clikck properties because there isnt any visible album

Charity

I did but it's not visible. Before I had one album and then I created another one to see if anything was there. It says there are two albums but it's not visible so even if I make another album, I won't be able to see it.

Nibbler

If even normal public albums are not visible to you then you have a different problem.

Charity

It's just the albums in my user galleries not the other catagories.

Nibbler

Then create a public album and do as suggested.

Charity

How do I create a public one in the user galleries?

Stramm

public albums aren't in the user gallery category. You're supposed to click any alubum in your gallery (not necessarily an album in the user gallery category)

read again:
Quote... For that click 'properties' next to any visible (public) album ...

For questions on how to create an album: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm

Charity

yay i got rid of it. so one more thing. how can i make users NOT make any albums at all?

Joachim Müller

Disallow them to have personal galleries in coppermine's groups manager. One question per thread please.
