When uploading images to the gallery, the second option is to enter File Title and the third is to enter File description.  Theres a section here where you can a lengthy description, but it seems whenever you view an image it doesnt show up.

To test this once more, I uploaded an image and entered the following in the File Description area:

this is just a test for the file description section

This is the link to the image, and you can see the file info and all the other stuff, but not that bit of text I put in.

Can someone please help with this?

FYI: I can't see the text you entered either.

Under the configuration menu, what is your setting under:

"Thumbnail view" > "Display file caption (in addition to title) below the thumbnail"

Is it yes or no?

As I understand it that only controls the display when viewing a full page of thumbs in the album, but you might try toggling it to test the results.

Or...

Is it possible that the theme is not displaying it?

Have you tried switching to another theme just to test it?

Thanks Aeronautic.

The config you mentioned was set to yes, so I changed it to no, just to see, but that didnt change anything, so I put it back to yes (which still didnt change anything).

I am currently using the classic theme which I changed the colours of, but I changed it to the next theme in the list which was eyeball, and that didnt make a difference either.   :(

Sorry that the theme switch did not help...

Any other changes or mods you've made would be the next place (or first place) to look.

I see where you mention the color changes - was that to CSS or the theme.php file? Perhaps table cell nicked to eliminate a closing tag?

Wish I could be of more help.

Thanks anyway.  I would have know what to look for in the files...

On one of my test galleries, I'm using CPG 1.4.10 and Stramm's Modpack with the classic theme and I don't have this problem. Have you've edited the theme.php file? If you zip up your theme and attach it here, we can take a look at it.
Did you read the manual first???? Taking 2 minutes to backup your files can save you hours of wondering what you screwed up.

I should say I am just recently upgraded to 1.4.10, but even on 1.4.9 I had this problem.

I have attached the theme.php for you - thanks!

scrappyscraps

Has anyone had a chance to look at the attached file (since it was requested that I post it here)?

Many thanks,

W.

There isn't anything in your theme.php file so that can't be the problem. Can you verify the version on Stramm's Modpack that you're using? You can get this info at Config>Admin Tools>Check Versions>Installed Coppermine version. The latest is 1.4.10 modpack v1. While you there, also make sure all your CPG files versions are 1.4.10.

Also, have you edited themes.inc.php at anytime in the past?
