Hello!
Thx for having this support board.

here's a link to my photogallery: http://picommunity.melanie-c.org/gallery/index.php

i uploaded the files to the server and set up the entire script yestarday,
it worked fine when i uploaded some file menually, but today i uploaded a huge amount of photos through the FTP and did a "batch" add, and also i've added a lot of new albums..
now when i try to open some of the albums or pictures through the thumbs, it gives the following error (With debug turned on: )

QuoteCritical error

There was an error while processing a database query.

QuoteWhile executing query "SELECT msg_id, msg_author, msg_body, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(msg_date) AS msg_date, author_id, author_md5_id, msg_raw_ip, msg_hdr_ip FROM defaultcomments WHERE pid='134' ORDER BY msg_id ASC" on 0

my other question is - how can users post pictures in albums I started? it seems to stop 'em!

Tamir

Casper

First of all, when you uploaded by ftp, did you put the images in albums/userpics, or albums/new_folder_you_created.

The userpics folder is for use only by the program to store images uploaded by members via the upload facility.

You should create your directory structure within albums, but not in userpics, and ftp into there.

second, when new albums are created, the default is that visitors cannot upload to them.  To change it so users can upload, click on the properties box, next to each album, and set 'visitors can upload' to yes.

As you have already created many albums, it may be quicker and easier for you to do this in the database.

Next time, please only one question per thread.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Tamir

i uploaded to the folder of the program.. i didn't know...
what should i do now? just remove the files with each properties option of each album? would it fix the errors?

thanks you.

how?

thanks angain, and sorry for posting 2 questions in one thread.

Tamir

ok, i deleted all of the pictures i uploaded through FTP, with CPG....
but there is one image - one that i given comment to (a comment that didn't appear) wouldn't get deleted from the database!
it gives the error:
QuoteWhile executing query "DELETE FROM defaultcomments WHERE pid='46'" on 0

sorry for being retard, i'm just too confused..

i'm trying also to remove the entire album of where the pic exist at, but it wouldn't success.

Casper

Use coppermine to delete the ones you have batch uploaded, DO NOT just use the ftp to move or delete them.

Once you have done that, you can upload them to folders in cpg/albums/, and then use the batch add facility.

You can use a tool such as phpMyAdmin to run an update to change the settings of all albums to allow uploads.  You will have to run a query on the cpg11d_albums, to change the uploads row to yes.

This all shows the value of reading the docs.

edit.  Use the phpmyadmin to remove the comment and the pic.

Seems like your comments table may be corrupted. Try repairing it, or remove it and recreate it.

Tamir

how can i delete the pic and it's comment through there?!
i can't find anything to do with the actual pi or it's comment....

that's what i kinda thought i just haven't got a cloue how to.

Error 127 usually indicates the record file for the table has crashed, but it can also mean the result set exceeded the allowed memory in MySQL. A few hundred rows will not cause the latter unless the memory setting is abnormal, so I'd suspect the former.

The easiest way to go about a repair is to use the tool PHPMyAdmin.  Do you have access to this tool? It is a web interface for your MySQL tables.  It is a third party application, and thus not a part of Coppermine.

Usually, if you are allowed to have a database by your host, you are allowed access to this tool. Call them and ask if it is available if they did not mention it.  The alternative is to run a series of commands manually, so it will be worth your time to check.

Let us know if you have access to this tool. We will go from there.

Tamir

i do have access, but i don't get a thing of what's going on there...

can i just backup the albums and categorys and re-install the script?

Tamir

Hiya

i went to phpMyAdmin (like i've been asked on http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/viewforum.php?f=12 ) on the albums, and changed the uploads row to yes, but it's still not allowing upload...

Thanks

Tamir

can somebody help me please?

hyperion

You must learn to patient, Tamir.  Most everyone here works, so it can take some time to solve these things.

Now that you have access to PHPMyAdmin, you should select the database containing the Coppermine tables.  Then you should select the checkbox to the left of the comments table. There is a drop down menu just below the list of tables. Open it, and click on repair table.

If this fails, you should remove the all Coppermine tables from the database, and you should uninstall Coppermine.  Then you should reinstall it. (This might be the best choice for you.)

Uploading issues are not related to the issue above.  Batch uploading is done by FTPing your files to a directory within /albums, but not within /userpics.  Then you select that directory you created from the list generated by the batch upload feature.

If this is unrelated to your current upload problem, you will have to be more specific.  We can't help if you don't provide details.

Tamir

sorry for my impatient

the error is fixed, but the uploading question is not a problem, it's  question...
i want to know how can i let all users upload to any album i created..

Thanks.
