Hi guys!  I am back with another odd query.  I had previously been using phpBB, integraed with Coppermine, but have decided to change to SMF.

I have a HUGE gallery and consequently, a huge database of information... about 12000 photos... and I don't want to lose any of this information, but would like to see it magically appear in the new SMF.

I have successfully installed SMF and am getting ready to upgrade Coppermine (still attached to phpBB) and attempt to make the switch.

Do I only need to...

1) Upgrade old Coppermine installation
2) Use the Bridge Manager to connect to SMF
3) Export "cpg11d_xxxxxxxx" tables from phpBB DB to smf's DB
4) And.... there's more... I am sure there is, but am I on the right path?  What other considerations are there?

much appreciation in advacne to anyone that can provide any feedback on this

phpBB install at phocas.net/phpBB2
SMF install at phocas.net/smforum
Coppermine install at phocas.net/gallery

I would do this:
1. Backup your coppermine and smf databases.
2. Turn off the bridge to phpbb. Hopefully you still know the account details of your old standalone coppermine.
3. Upgrade your old coppermine to the newest version.
4. Backup the upgraded coppermine database
5. Install a new coppermine on the smf database.
6. Import the upgraded coppermine database backup into the new coppermine installation (in SMF database).
7. Check if coppermine works properly (and if SMF works properly).
8. Turn on SMF bridge.

You don't need to move things between databases. Just rebridging to SMF should be fine, assuming the user ids are the same.

that makes me even happier

i did use conversion utility for SMF to get the users & forums over from phpBB

so... what you are saying it that i should just upgrade & bridge to SMF and everything should work ok?

tried this out last nite...

shouldn't the cpg tablees have migrated to the smf DB?

~phocas~

hrm... so they are stuck in the old phpbb database?
i was gonna wipe out that forum/db
would it be relatively easy to migrate them over to smf?

as well, it doesn't seem to redirect correctly

scenario 1)
if i am logged into smf/tp
and go to phocas.net/gallery/index.php
it doesn't show me as logged in to coppermine
i click login and it takes me back to smf/tp login window
(though i still show as logged in to smf)

scenario 2)
logged out of everything
cookies cleared / all windows closed
start ms exploder
go to phocas.net/gallery/index.php
click login
goes to smf login
login and it sends me back to
http://www.phocas.net/?board=redirect

... can pm you test ID if needed

thanks in advance... i appreciate any help in the matter

Move them anywhere you like, just update include/config.inc.php. If you need support on the redirection then post the standard inforamtion. http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24032.0
