Problem with Final Extract - Ver 2.3

I uploaded the plugin but for some reason the when i uncheck the Last Comments link it works for a while but then unchecks itself and shows in the menu.

for some reason the Last Comments unchecks itself and shows in the menu. Is this a bug

I looked all over i want to remove the register link from the login page i am using Final Extract - Ver 2.3 i want users to register so i dont want to disable registration i have it set up so that after someone clicks on paypal link and pays it sends them to register page thats why i want to remove from main page which in this case is login.php

I have removed the link by adding code from sample and putting // in front of the code

tried adding // in front of code for register link in the theme.php but it  still comes up
