Hello,

I'm a bit lost with the last version of Coppermine (1.4.x)

In my previous SMF forum, Coppermine 1.3.x used all the SMF User Groups to customize the gallery rights.
Now with this brand new coppermine, bridged on a brand new SMF, I only have four basic groups. The problem is that I have created a new SMF main group (like admin or registered), and nobody in this group can upload pictures.

After a search on this help forum, I have seen that you recommend to switch to "Use post based groups" in the parameters of Coppermine, but I can't find this setting. And when I try to go to "utilities -> bridge options" Coppermine asks me a login/pwd that I've forgotten. So I'm a bit lost.

Thx by advance

Motostrada

Oups, I've forgotten some indications :

Coppermine install: http://www.motostrada.fr/galerie/
Forum install: http://www.motostrada.fr/forum
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.x , don't remember, can't find where to know this
Forum version: SMF 1.1.2
Test user account: if mandatory I'll give one

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  ??
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ??
Use post-based groups?:  ??
Cookie name/preifx (if applicable) ??

You need to re-run the bridge manager to change the settings. If you don't remember the admin password then search the board for instructions on resetting it.

Motostrada

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I can't reach the bridge menu.
This what I did :

- Reset the user_id =1 password in the table, using the mysql md5 function.
- Clear all my cookies
- try to login to the bridge menu using the login and the new password defined in coppermine's user table.

--> It failed all the time. Now I am supposed to wait 1000 seconds before triyng again, I feel it won't work.

Isn't there a simpler way to set the "use post based groups"? For instance directly in database?

Nibbler

Doing it that way is more complicated, not simpler. You can try it if you want though. Remember the password is case sensitive.

Motostrada

Well, I've changed the login in the database to "Administrator", I've waited one thousand seconds, and finally I could login and activate the setting.

Thanks for your help, the problem is solved.
