I just know this is going to be something stupid I'm missing, but...

I've edited the english.php file with some custom lines to the registration email (that goes to the new user) but the system keeps sending the original version. I've double and tripple checked and the english.php file on the server has the new version of the text in it. I've made sure that english is my gallery's language (in config).

I'm out of ideas.

Help?  (Please?!?)
