HELP! I can't upload pics!

Currently, I have 3 websites with coppermine 1.4.9, but for some reason, I cannot add pictures to the coppermine galleries of any of these sites.

the date after the url of the gallery is the last day i uploaded anything into there successfully. This doesn't mean I haven't had this problem since then, but that I haven't tried until today (march 31).
can you tell me what would be happening that would make all 3 of these websites unable to load pictures (to include pictures that had been successfully installed)?
When I upload them to step 1 it says they are successful, but the picture doesn't show on the 2nd step of uploading. After this, the non-image won't upload.
After following the steps for trouble shooting pic uploads, I got a message that is too large to fit into this posting.

This is the message that I get with the pictures.

The file 'albums/userpics/a_million_little_bird_bodies~2.JPG' can't be inserted in the album

Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image.

The file is definitely small enough to be uploaded.

1- update to 1.4.10 as it is mandatory
2- use the search option, this question has been answered before
