Hi

I have a situation.  I had about 2300 registered users on my coppermine (1.3.2) before I upgraded to 1.4.10.

Now some of my clients complain that they have lost all their images in their "My Favorites".

Question:  Is there a way to retreave this information ?  Please help.

Thanx in advance

Nibbler

The favourites data was stored in users' cookies in 1.3.2. Did you change your cookie prefix when you updated?

Joachim Müller

Favorites used to be stored in a client-sided cookie in cpg1.3.x. In cpg1.4.x, they are being stored server-sided for registered users. So basically: they are lost. Can't understand why this is a BIG problem though. Just a minor issue imo. However, there's little you could do to circumvent this from happening, as going back to cpg1.3.x is not an option.

For me it was a big problem, since one of my customers spend days adding pictures she want to buy to her favorites.  I explained to her abbout the cookie thing, she understand.  It's kind of sorted out.

Thanx anyway.

Hi.

Quotethey are being stored server-sided for registered users.

Means that that registred users can clear their browser cookies and favourites should still remain ok?

Thanks, Dietmar

I tried and they get deleted. Thats because I wondered about that statement.

You're doing something wrong then. They should remain even if you login from another PC.
