Hi , wonder if someone can help me to help a registered user who has IE7. After registering and logging in she cannot see the create albums /modify my albums etc etclinks that appear when logged in..other users including myself have no probs with the login and upload as registered users..ive told her to delete cookies and temp files...and in the meantime allowed full guest access to upload to test if she can..which worked..but she still didnt see those links for create album.. i think this maybe some sort of IE7/scripting settings problem?? Not having IE7 i cant test it myself and figure it out..any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Sounds like her login doesn't stick. Usually happens if there is something fishy with cookie authentification. Most common end user issue is third party software interfering with cookies. Make her temporarily disable pseudo-security apps like the notorious "Norton Internet Security" or similar crap. If turning those apps off improves her ability to log in, make her configure her client properly. However, this is something between you and your end user, not something that coppermine support staff should/could probably look into.
Coppermine's authentification works fine with IE7. If it doesn't work for particular users, they need to set up their client properly. We can't teach people computer basics like cookie settings in IE or security app.

Thanks Gau Gau, I suspected it was user end cookie restrictions or something else, coz ive set up test accounts etc and tried it myself and other noobs have set up accounts fine. LOL..You made me laugh..yes she has Norton!! ;D Will tell her to test the site with it off  ...also, I understand you cant give advice on computer issues..just thankful I now know I am not going mad!!
Cheers! ;D

Wierd, got her to allow all cookies, add the site to trusted websites, but it still wouldnt login properly. I decided to upgrade to IE7 and as you said found no issues with the gallery, other than with the template i was using (Foliage).

I still couldnt figure out what it could be, so decided to delete the full installation of coppermine and reinstall it incase it was on my side..bit drastic i know, but its still early days re the album..and lo and behold with a fresh installation, she got in! Must have been a bug! Main thing is its sorted now..Just wanted to give feedback incase anyone else has a similar issue.

If it would have been a bug, this would not have been fixed by un-installing and re-installing. Subsequently, this can not have been a bug, but something on your end. Anyway, thanks for returning and posting your solution, although we're convinced that un-installing is not an option. As you said, it's much too drastic. Simply performing an upgrade using vanilla copies of the coppermine package would have done the same. Marking thread as "solved" anyway, but my advice to others with similar issues is not to go through the un-install/re-install procedure.
