hi - i did post a rather long set of questions but after a bit of digging and further reading of the forum i have answered most of these - I still have a bit of a problem though - if a user has more than 10 files to upload at once , can this be done by selecting the whole folder - say of 100+ images instead of having to manually do each one?

No. Try XP publisher if that's an option.
