I see no 'new topic' button in 'general discussion'.

Is this because I have -1 karma?

or because there are already 5 million topics there?

I couldn't find one relevant to my question so I'll post it under misc. instead of general. =)

The general discussion board has been abused so many times by users who requested suppor there that we closed the general discussion board for regular users (no matter what karma ratings they have). You can't start new threads here. The board description says so as well.
Your posting was moved here by Sami.
I can't see the reason for your meta-question. Instead of starting a post that asks why you can't post on a particular board, just post whatever you have to say.

but what If I can't find any relevant topic to post to? sounds like recipe for chaos.

I'm sorry for complaining.  Coppermine is awesome and it's going to make a huge difference at my art school. I really appreciate everyhting you guys are doing. ;D

Well, this is a support board: either ask support-related questions or don't post at all. We simply don't want to maintain a "chit-chat" board. You started yet another meta discussion about karma and board architecture in another thread. As you haven't made your point in your reply I'm just locking this thread now.
