Sorting albums into categories AFTER creating the albums

When I created my galleries I created the albums first and never created the categories. Can I still sort these albums into categories? A friend of mine says that it can't be done, but it should be, right?
I read the Tutorials and so far I've only seen how to create categories and THEN the album to place under.

Is there a way to do it the other way around?

Of course you can, just select the album you want in album properties.
