How to change the reference to /themes dir ?

Hi guys 

I currently have 2 galleries running. (2 databases).
They are on the same domain on the same server
/pixu
/pix2
They are running also the same version of Coppermine
and the same customized theme.

However, whenever I change a theme for /pix2 (my primary gallery)
I also need to change it for the /pixu gallery.

I can I have the /pixu gallery point to the themes directory
of the /pix2 gallery, and if so, where can I change (the URL ?) for this ?

How can this be achieved and are there instructions on this on this very forum ?

Where are the paths to the /themes dir stored ?

what does "worksafe" mean ?

Also, where can the path for {THEMES} be changed.
I don't think symlinks are a valid answer to my question.
