When i got to the index.php of my galleries i get this error message

Fatal error:

While executing query "SELECT extension, mime, content, player FROM cpg1411_filetypes;" on 0

mySQL error: Unknown column 'player' in 'field list'

Run update.php. If that doesn't help then search the board.

The more info you post the better the support wil become.

Did you try to upgrade your CPG with an automated tool as the dreaded Fantastico ?

One way of solving this is by downloading the cpg 1.4.12 package and performing a clean update of your cpg.

Searching the board with "mySQL error: Unknown column" as the search criteria would have gotten you this answer as wel, please search before posting ;)

Okay, I ran update.php (successful) and now no matter what page I try to access (with the exception of install.php, update.php, etc.) all I get is a blank page with no error message.

PHP: 5
MYSQL:
Coppermine: 1.4.12
Server: IIS
Gallery URL: http://www.theowlery.org/cpg1412/

I didn't use fantastico or anything like that. I installed it directly onto my server. I am using a database from an older version, but wouldn't the update.php have sorted that out?

See if you can get debug turned on by going into phpmyadmin , opening your cpg database and going to the cpg***_congif table.
In there should be a mentioning off "debug_mode" which is set to 0 if not turned on. Set the value to 1 and save. Reload your site, there should be a debug message appearing. Post that here, it might help me or other supporters etc.

Debug has been on

that's how I got my orginal error message

Blank pages are usually a result of broken/corrupted files. Get a fresh package of cpg1.4.12, re-upload it to your webserver, making sure that you're using the proper FTP mode and that your FTP app is configured to overwrite existing files. Use a "real" FTP app (not some crap like the uploader built into MS Frontpage).
