On my site i have swf files and i don't like how it says "FLASH".  I wish to use custom thumbnails.  How do I go about this?  Is there any automated scripts available ?

basically i'd like a picture out of the swf to be the thumbnail.  So it's a lot easier to know what you are going to see.  If nothing is automatic.. i can screen capture a picture out of it, maybe.  But i basically need to know how to go about it, the code etc.

Hope you guys understand what i'm trying to do.  The site in question is www.funnycunt.net

actually the best way would be if I could customise my thumbnails from "edit file information" just an idea for you guys :)
though best overall would be if it could grab the middle or last frame of a swf file

Yes, that would be great. However, the image libraries coppermine uses can't look into flash files, so we have no way to process flash movies and extract pics from them.

so is there a way to have a custom thumbnail for them though ?
like say if i capture an image from each swf, and make them all 50x50.. how would i go about using those pictures instead of the default picture of all flash files?

hallo,
I rtfm,
first it does not work the it did (uppercase SWF)
Problem: I just want the videos in the album, no pictures.
how do I get flash movies + custom thumbnails but without pictures?

thanks

Re-read the instructions: you're supposed to FTP-upload the movie files and the custom thumbnail images to your server. Then, you're not supposed to batch-add both files-types, but only the movie files. This way, only the movie files will reside in the database. The thumbnail files will just be taken into account as what they have been designed for: as thumbnail files that represent the videos (or any other non-image file).
It's expected behaviour that you will see the thumbnail files as database entries if you batch-add them. That's why you mustn't do that.
For details, post a deep link to the gallery you're refering to. In the future, please don't try to hijack someone else's thread, especially if it has been marked as "solved".

sorry for the closed thread-thing, thought it would be the right thing todo.
including only swf files worked, even though I thought I tried this part as well:

A custom thumb addition for the modpack. Maybe worth a try if you upload lots of movies.
