coppermine is the only gallery that will do what i need to do....manually....

i am not very php program savy, therefore i need to just come out and ask...after having searched for some time, and unable to locate what i am looking for...

bottom line is.....

we want to have a online fish show.....koi....judged via a picture....1 koi, 1 picture....

now koi are divided into 13 difference categories and further each category divided by 7 sizes, thereby having a minimum of 91 possible search combinations....there are further breakdowns, but i hope you are getting my drift.....there is also the possibility of needing all size 1 and 2 sorted as well......etc....

is there any way to pre-design these searches?

i already have the additional search fields sorted out, ie....

-tank #
-fish #
-variety
-size

tank and fish# are not really required, as searchable fields......the important ones are obviously variety and size....

i can sort through the manual linking, etc.....if i could just get an example i could figure it out from there.....i am just planing on an external index page to link to the gallery itself....

hope you can help me....we are all just old, old folks in an old, small hobby...

private email is dalerg@chartertn.net

thanks in advance,

there is some test/sample data there only to see if i could figure this out on my own.....but in actuality there could be 75 to 100 tanks of fish like in the examples....

You'd need to come up with code changes in two places: the search page, where you would have to add dropdowns into the form and the results page, where you would have to compose the strings sent by the additional form fields in the search string.
I have posted instructions for a similar thing on the German thread "Suchfeld-funktion Vorgabe / Prefix" that explains what to modify on thumbnails.php

P.S. You should really reduce the number of filmstrip items or reduce the dimensions of your thumbs

DaleRG

sorry.....my german is not that good... ;)

will see what i can come up with.....

as for the size of the thumbs, again, just attempting to see what different sizes look like, etc...

this may not be what i am looking for....as i have to set up the predefined searches for others to use....(to keep is simple for a panel of 4 judges to use)....who will have even less computer knowledge than i....

i am pretty much sure that this is not the software for us.....

back to the drawing board.....

So you give up on this issue then? Can I mark this as "closed"?
