Hello,

I have cpg 1.4.10 installed. what I want is to do a fresh install of cpg 1.4.14 and remove the 1.4.10 copy. but I want the new version to use all data, albums, configs, photos from the old version's database...

Can some one please help and advise how it can be done?

Regards
Ali

Why? Just do a normal update.

Why? Just do a normal update.

the older version's files are infected with a virus.

Nibbler

When you update you will be replacing all the files anyway.

Phpmyadmin can be used to perform a db backup and restore if you stil want to do a backup and then remove all files. But as Nibbler points out a regular update does replace all files and thus the virus infected files.

one more question.

the theme was customized to our needs. will we have to redo the theme customization or we can just copy the old theme folder to the new one?

Thanks
Ali

You can keep the old theme as it is. Make sure you have renamed it to avoid conflict with the built-in themes.
