The loading time on my categories page is verrrrrry slow. It takes up to about 5 min to accomplish anything on it. This includes adding a new category, renaming a cateogory, moving a category, deleting a category, whatever. It doesn't matter what it is, the page loads very slow. I'm trying to reorganize things and it's just simply impossible to do so because all and every time I go into the page, it refuses to speed up. I'm loosing time in keeping the gallery updated because of this.

I'm running CPG 1.14.16 stable having upgraded and done the upgrade wizard. When I completed teh upgrade and ran the wizard, it stated everything was fine. I've been using a cat_add_mgr.php page from an earlier post to be able to add categories, but as I stated, the updating and the reorganizing is a pain.

Is there any kind of a fix to this? I've tried everything. I didn't want to post here because I wasn't sure if this constituted a 'new' issue or not. But I need some help with this. Everything else in the gallery works perfectly BUT this page. I will have a lot of categories and sub-categories and don't want to think of having to move everything to a new gallery as Coppermine is perfect for my needs. But this one issue is vexing.

This was the same issue I had, but of course, before I posted for help, I searched for a solution and found it~ hehe

I just wanted to add a little thing I worked out, which people sorting categories might want to also know.

People like myself who have many categories and subcategories, might find it difficult when adding sub categories, because the subcategory is placed at the end of the existing subcategories, and I often have to spend a long time moving it up to the top. (using the old catmgr.php script it took a good hour at times)

But then I realised that if I added a subcategory, without putting it under the category I intend for it to be in, and after it is created, I use the Move into function and select which category I want to place it in, then that subcategory ends up at the top of the rest of the subcategories, hence saving me much time manually moving it up.

I hope what I said makes sense~

I thought I'd share a little tip to those sorting categories. Sorry if this is already widely know, I've used CPG (Best pic gallery out-there) for about three years now and only recently found that out~
