Hi all

I have a CPG 1.3.4 gallery at IceInSpace.  It has had some reasonably minor customisations/modifications/theme changes.

I want to move my gallery to a new site, but want to take the opportunity to upgrade to the latest CPG1.4.x at the same time. I'm happy to lose the customisations and start from scratch.

What's the best way to achieve this? I can see two potential options:

1) Move and upgrade
- Move the CPG1.3.4 files and DB in total to the new server (update the config to point to the new DB)
- Follow the upgrade process to upgrade from 1.3.4 to 1.4.x

2) Install new and import ?
- Install a shiny new CPG1.4.x on my new server
- Import the data from the CPG1.3.4 instance? How?

What is the best way to do what I want to do?
Are there other, better ways to do it?

Thanks in advance.

Just move and upgrade. Both steps are explained in the manual.

I kind of have the same problem. I moved the gallery form one server to another one. I inserted the old sql data into the new data base created.

What is the file I need to modify to point to the new database? I am running version 1.4.18. I checked the config.php and there is nothing in there.

include/config.inc.php, as suggested in the docs and countless postings similar to yours.
