Uploaded images not visible in batch-add-files

My latest additions to my ablum folder are not visible when I try to load them into my gallery. Is there something in Admin Tools that I need to check? As far as I know, nothing has changed. Its just that they look as if they are not there, but when I check  the album folder using my FTP software, they are there.
Any clues?
(PS I have tried searching for a similar question in the past, with no success)
