Somebody please help!

I've read through all the literature and tried all manner of solutions to facilitate uploading of larger files. I'm on a reseller hosting package with UK2 and have had them alter loads of setting but am still not able to upload large files. Here is what I have done so far:

Upped limits in the admin config
Altered the php.ini file limits in both album and root directory
altered the jgeg file perameters - eg will only work if the image is under 2MB and 300dpi
Set the max file size and height past any image I'm uploading
Tried to alter setting originally through .htaccesss (didn't work)

Am now at my whits end to resolve this issue. Any ideas!

PS. have read all threads and FAQs AND the MANUAL, but still have not found a solution. Please help!

Would upload it but hosting has just crashed the site - previous settings were:

Directive | Local Value | Master Value
max_execution_time | 30 | 30
max_input_time | 60 | 60
upload_max_filesize | 20M | 20M
post_max_size | 8M | 8M

Any help?
