Out of the 2 choices one has. Which is the better image processor? I have  seen the differences in the GD versions but I have not seen the difference beteen that and Image Magix. Currently running Image Magix 5.5.6 That is the version ensim puts on their servers. Would we be missing alot to upgrade?  Thanks!

Imagemagick and GD2 are very close.  GD1 is not as good.  If you change to GD2, you will lose the use of gif uploads.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
