email notification upon gallery update

Hi, I would like a feature to allow gallery visitors the option to receive emails when new pictures are added.    Perhaps it could include options to notify when only certain albums or categories have had something added.  I've read other requests, and I believe it has been achieved, for users to be emailed when comments are posted to their images.  Maybe this could be another option.  I doubt this would be included in the core Coppermine, but would make a great mod.

I think Picasa/Google has a similar option to what I'm talking about ... to be notified when new photos are uploaded or commented on.

How hard would this be to create for Coppermine?  Anyone want to make it happen?

The devs are reluctant to add features to the core code that result in more emails being sent along. That's why this feature will probably not make it into the next release. However, it could be achieved pretty easily as a mod.

I'm looking for this mod too.
I manage a photogallery from a event group promoter and I think would be a great idea notify the registered users when the administrator upload news photos from some event. I searched on the forum, but I don't find anything about it.

Are someone working on it? I'm looking the mod for notify on new comments and try to adapt the hack to this. If someone wants to exchange knowledgment about it, u're welcome !!
