How would I remove a sub catergory from the main page of my gallery? But when you click in the catergory, you can still see the sub catergory at the top.

You're running cpg1.4.18, while the most recent stable release currently is cpg1.4.19.
We're not ready to look into issues that may be fixed already. That's one of the reasons why you need to upgrade. The other reason is security.

There's a config setting for the number of levels of categories to display.

Ok, I have updated.

But I still don't see how to remove sub-catergories on the index page

I didn't see this: Number of levels of categories to display

I just needed to change that to 1 :)
