Export / Import Users?

Not sure if this is the right place for this or not but as I couldn't figure where it should go I felt it fell under the misc category

What I am looking to do is take a csv export of my wordpress users and impor them into coppermine, or be able to do the reverse and export my users fromc oppermine and import into wordpress. I have a plugin for wordpress that gives me the CSV output of my registered users so I am thinking I should go in that direction first. I know that you can import a csv thru the MySQL / PHP Admin but will I mess anything up ... like is the format different or are the users generally in the same format for most scripts that use SQL?

Is there any option to import / export users within the gallery itself or would this only be from the SQL directly?

My thought process on this is that a program I am very familiar with that runs on SQL (not web based, uses Sybase) has the ability to export data into CSV, then the table can be manually deleted and an import can be made from the CSV to the database.... granted the application has the import / export option as we keep the end users out of the database functions but I am thinking the concept would be the same.

My real goal is to be able to bridge CPG to WP to SMF then onto other scripts I use like Vshare, Enthusiast and so on so that one login will get them into all areas of my site and keep them logged in, but I realize that no such option exists so I am taking baby steps and trying to manually bring the users over.


Am I heading in the right direction even if this is a manual export / import? Or am I way out of my league and should wait for a proper bridge to be created?
