OK - I'm sure I'm going to be in big trouble here. There seems to be 1001 rules and regulations on this forum before we're allowed to ask a question and I'm probably breaking them all. I've searched Documentation tying to find where I can look for a template but can't find an URL or link that takes me through to a site that features available templates.

Please help, or have me put to death for being in breach of the regs.

Cheers, Doug

You can preview all available themes on the demo and download them from the downloads page. Both pages are linked to at the top of this page.

Thanks guys, the Download link takes me to a site called ForceForge or something, then the Themes link invites me to download stuff, sight unseen.

The second link is more helpful, I can at least see the templates on offer, but how do I download one? There doesn't appear to be a download link anywhere.

???

As a matter of policy, do the web masters of this forum seriously expect users to spend hours wading through all the docs, faqs and previous posts before asking a question?  It's all rather anal, after-all, what harm is done if someone asks a question thats already been asked? Does it break the internet or something?

Hein Traag

It's not anal as you put it. Its about you as the user doing a thorough search before asking a question which is either answered in the docs or in a other thread. It clutters up this board if we keep getting questions like that. Put yourself in our position, how would you feel answering the same question over and over again? That's what the docs and the search page are for ;)

The templates can be found here: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/board,64.0.html

What's so hard about the instructions: you browse the demo as suggested here:

You can preview all themes that we're aware of on the demo for cpg1.4.x - just use the dropdown list at the top of the page to browse the themes and see the demo skinned with a particular theme. This way, you can find out how the different coppermine pages (index, thumbnail page, individual pic) look like using a particular theme.
You memorize the theme name of the theme you liked best, then you go to the downloads page and download the corresponding theme. If that's too much asked for, then leave both windows open (the demo window and the download window), so you can look up the theme name.

The thread User-contributed themes already contains all needed data - it doesn't get simpler than that. If you want an even better preview with integrated download link, then you're welcome to set up and maintain that. This is a free project. All work has to be done by unpaid volunteers. Your rant about something being "anal" is absolutely misplaced. You fall into the category of people that http://blog.coppermine-gallery.net/2009/01/19/never-argue/ rants about...
You don't appear to fall into the range of our intended audience, so fare well.
Anyway, as this is leading noweher, I'm locking this thread.
