Hi,

I searched the forum, but I couldn't find how I can DISABLE links for "SPAM Comments" from users?

Thanks in Advance!

Joachim Müller

Not sure what you mean. Use more words to describe your issue.
To keep spammers from posting comments, disallow anonymous comments on the groups page. If you have applied cpg1.4.21, there will be no more links in comments anyway. If this is not enough, read up captcha and aksimet on this very board.

Thanks, I did the manual update to 1.4.21...I hope this will disable spammers from posting url links in comments.

The links will not be clickable, but this will not stop thenm posting spam comments in the first place. Like I said: if spam comments bother you, disable anonymous visitors (guests) posting comments, or apply captcha or akismet.

Great...can I just have comments wait to be approved by me or other Admin?

Joachim Müller

Comment approval will be a feature in cpg1.5.x (no release date known yet), but is not available in your version of coppermine (cpg1.4.x). For the last time: use Captcha and or Akismet. At least read those two terms up so you know what my recommendation means, OK?
Your initial question was solved, right?
