Problem with accent in IPTC datas

Hello,

I use Lightroom to manage my pictures database and to add IPTC datas. I export my pictures and upload to Coppermine, but in the IPTC datas french language caracters or accent are replace by a symbole.
Can I avoid that ?

Currently no: the IPTC implementation doesn't support non-latin chars. Not related to upload, moving.

As far as I can see the file needs to go into the root folder of coppermine. Not sure though that it will do anything good. It is performing heavy database manipulation, so be extra carefully and back up first.
I don't think that the script will work as advertized and therefore can't recommend it.

It is a program I downloaded from the forum. I only correct the problems UTF-8 and translated messages in French.
Despite his later summary, it works well, tested on site www.photothequefully.ch.

Yes, I load the root folder of the Coppermine.
This program could be adapted plugin. If someone want to do.

Hi,

I load this file into my root coppermine folder, but I have still problem with accent on my keywords as you can see there : http://www.sblanc.com/DOCSTEMP/iptccoppermine.jpg specially with the word "Péninsula" where "é" is replace...

Then you should do as I suggested and post a link to your coppermine-driven gallery. I went to http://www.sblanc.com/ and even clicked through your primary navigation, but couldn't spot coppermine

Did you run the script against your gallery? I ran http://www.sblanc.com/sbphototek/iptc_DB_adderFR.php for you without a result: the IPTC data is still scrambled. As I said earlier in this  thread: i don't think that the script works as expected. Maybe d70photographie could clarify.
