Hello,

I would like to set whole categories to "private" and let only a specific user group see the albums in these categories.


I for myself have a lot of albums which should only be visible to family members, not all other friends, but to set the permission in every single album is a lot of work...

Could you make this part of CPG1.5? Or could someone make a plugin please?

No, as we already have a feature freeze for cpg1.5.x

That's impossible, because permissions go by album in coppermine. You can not change that easily without changing the overall structure of the application. Not very suprisingly, permissions by category have been requested very often. Answer remains the same.

However, there will be dramatic changes in the permissions management of cpg1.5.x. Check out the dev version if you're keen to find out what the changes will be, but remember that this goes unsupported: as long as there has been no stable release for cpg1.5.x, everything related to that version goes unsupported.
