Hi all... I've read so much about this problem but could not find any answer in the many pages of this sub-forum.

I have the following issue when trying to "bridge" Coppermine and phpBB3:
When I access the CPG gallery URL, it shows me that I'm not logged in, even when I'm logged in to the phpBB forum.
I only have 2 albums, which are only visable to the "registered" group... hence, these are not visable :(

Install is out of the box. Downloaden aug 2nd 2009
Forum install: http://www.bombelman.com/test2/
Forum version: phpBB 3.0.5
Coppermine: http://www.bombelman.com/test2/pics/
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.25

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.bombelman.com/test2
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../
Use post-based groups?:  NO
Cookie name/preifx (if applicable): phpbb3_b9iwx2

Bridge Source: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,53678.0.html

In another thread I clearly remember a DEV-member saying the cookie-names should NOT be the same.
Is this a mistake ? I have them set like in the Bridge thread, so they are the same.
Not sure if this is a cookie issue or not, or if it has to do with CPG being in the phpBB gallery folder...

Thanks !!

The cookie name of the forum and coppermine must not be the same - they must differ.
When I try to access http://www.bombelman.com/test2/pics/ I am prompted for a username / password by a browser dialog box, so you must have set up folder protection using .htaccess methods. As you failed to post the needed data, we can't help you at all.

I don't like the attitude behind the way you ask your question "yes another bridge not working" sounds like this was by design. This is not true - by design, bridging works just great and out of the box if users do as suggested in the docs. You don't fall into that categegory, that's why you're having issues.

Your actual live gallery appears to be http://www.bombelman.com/pix2/ - you're trying to cloak that address by using a frame and a silly JavaScript to disable the context menu. You're using cpg1.4.12 there, and you're deliberately hiding/obscuring the "Powered by Coppermine" tag that is mandatory to display in an unobscured manner for legal reasons. There's no support for you. Restore the tag immediately and permanently!

>> I don't like the attitude behind the way you ask your question "yes another bridge not working" sounds like this was by design.
This was set because I found more threads on this issue that gave me no answer to my question,
then the threads I found that had an answer. Of those that did have an "answer", it did not work for me.

>> so you must have set up folder protection using .htaccess methods
Yes I did. I did this for different reasons, I forgot to post the login details.
Username: mark
passsword: test

Replies to your off-topic response:
>> Your actual live gallery appears to be http://www.bombelman.com/pix2/
That's just one of four of the live Galleries. (pix1, pix3 and pix4 also).

>> you're trying to cloak that address by using a frame and a silly JavaScript to disable the context menu.
I don't see this being a problem ?

>> You're using cpg1.4.12 there.
I'm using 4 galleries/databases for a single "site".
I'm in the process of merging these as we speak.
For this reason, updating to the latest version is not an option at the moment.
Maybe after the merge, but I have to check my modifications first.

>> and you're deliberately hiding/obscuring the "Powered by Coppermine" tag
not delibrately.

Done !  ;D

Nibbler

You set the footer to a font size of 0. How is that not deliberate?

Nibbler

You've set an invalid cookie domain (www.bombelman.com/test2) in phpBB. That needs to be a domain name.

Joachim Müller

Bridging is not enabled. You haven't done as suggested and provided a test user account for your bridging app.

Anyway, support policy is not negotiable: the "Powered by Coppermine" tag is still nearly invisible, with a font color that is hardly visible on the background you chose and a font size that is close to zero.

typo, should have been 10.
sounds like a very lame excuse to me.
