Delete database can I restore my files? Cioppermine critical error.

I had lots of databases on my server that I do not use so I was deleting them one by one, then I accidently deleted my gallery. Is there a way I can get everything back with all the pictures still in their folders with my theme that I was using? I still have all the files on my server so would my host be able restore the gallery? Or could I create a new database and transfer all the files I have to the new database? I get this error when trying to access my gallery:

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Access denied for user 'web244-a-copp-23'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

In a word, no. The actual pictures are stored in the albums folder but all the details about them and where they go are stored in the database. Hopefully you or your host will have a backup of your database which can be restored iv available.

If not then you will need to re-upload all the pictures, re-create all your users and a lot more besides.

I know it is a bit late to tell you this but always do regular backups of your databases and always do a backup before doing any fiddling woth your database.

If you can't go for the prefered option of restoring the database, there is a method that is less drastic than what Phill said: after all, the files already reside on your server, so you don't have to re-upload them, but you can start from scratch as far as your database is concerned, but not as far as file uploads are concerned: use batch-add to re-upload all those files into a fresh database. Pre-requisite is that there is a structure inside your album folder that makes sense, so the big question is: did you perform http uploads to populate your old gallery or did you perform FTP uploads plus batch-add. Were you the only uploader or did others upload as well?
All of this is so much easier to determine if you post a link to your gallery when asking for support, that's why we made this even a mandatory forum rule: you need to post a link to your gallery when starting a new thread, so why don't you?

OK, then try to do as suggsted first: try to get a database backup and restore that. In the future, backup your database before performing silly cleanups.
If restoring the database fails (because there is no backup you could go back to), perform a fresh install using the data on your server. To accomplish that, use your FTP app and delete http://www.varsityfanclub.co.uk/gallery/include/config.inc.php and http://www.varsityfanclub.co.uk/gallery/include/install.lock (back up those files before deleting them). Then perform the install by going to http://www.varsityfanclub.co.uk/gallery/install.php - this will re-create the empty coppermine database tables that you need. Go to coppermine's config and set it up in the way you want. Create the categories and albums you need. Finally, go to the bathc-add screen and re-add the pics to your database once more. Alternatively, use the plugin CPGMassImport as an alternative for the creation of categories and albums and batch-adding (if the folder structure already corresponds to your category/album structure).

Urm, what? How do you back up files? Well, that's the very basic thing you need to know when running a site: you download the file from the webserver to your client using your FTP application that you used to upload coppermine in the first place.

You need the correct details from your host or your hosting admin panel. The error you are getting simply states that the script cannot connect to the database so either you are supplyint the wrong credentials or there is something wrong with the database. Either way it is something you need to talk to your host about.
