It worked just fine 5 hours ago.
and I did not touch anything
What should I do?

You need to upgrade now. Running <!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.22 (stable)--> instead of 1.4.25 is not a bright idea :)

oh, it works now,
last nite it didn't.
I'll have to upgrade,
but I'd rather leave it alone,
because everytime I upgrade it in the past, I messed it up
and I had to upload all the content from zero.

Not upgrading can be far worse. You could get hacked and then what would you do.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Hacked?  That would suck.  I'll
try to upgrade,  but like I said, everytime I do
it messes up everything, and It's kind of annoying to have to redo  everything
every few months.

Especially when you run your gallery on a different domain than your site content. As well, a third host for a forum, though you needn't run any internal maintenance there, of course, which may very well be your intention.

Why not host everything under one domain? Your forum could also be self-contained via any of the free PHP boards available, such as SMF, phpBB and so on. You could even bridge them so they appear seamless and work in conjunction with one another and do away with Yahoo groups (which you have little control over) completely. If interested, see the section marked "Bridging" both within the forum sub-topics as well as the CGP documentation.

At any rate, although updating may seem like a daunting task, it is nevertheless very necessary. Think of it as keeping not only your web space clean and safe, but keeping it clean and safe for your visitors, as well. As a webmaster, you have an obligation to ensure your site remains safe and virus/trojan free; well as a responsible webmaster (or should I say webmistress) anyway.
