I might have done something myself but the fact is that files/photos in "some albums" in my picture gallery are opening in same window whereas other albums are opening in new window.

How to prevent all photos/files in all albums from opening in new windows ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

OK..Here is the gallery :

http://grdxc.info/grdxc-picturegallery/

In the above DX Mix is both clickable as well as opens in new window where as Random QSLs are neither clickable nor open in new window !

How to make DX Mix also not open in new window ?

Thank you.

You need to upgrade before doing anything else.

<!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.20 (stable)-->

Is old and has vulnerabilities.

Random QSL is an image.  DX Mix is text file. Browsers display each differently.

OK..If not anything else.

Is it possible to make text file open in same window or not ?

If so,how ?

Thank you.

Is it possible to upgrade the "existing" picture gallery or do I have to download everything again ?

Incidentally this gallery was downloaded from the cpanel of my webhost which is very easy.

I don't think it is possible - look at converting them to images.

UPGRADE!
The manual will describe how to do it.

Hi i-imagine,

Could you please list which types of files are "non clickable and open in same window" ?

I know only the following only :

.jpg
.wav

Coppermine can embedd images and multimedia (sound files and videos) into the page. Documents (i.e. text files, word documents, excel spreadsheets) that require an external viewer that can't be embedded into the page will result in the corresponding file to be downloaded to your client. Depending on your client preferences and browser you will see an extra browser window or just the open/save dialog.
This is not a particular feature of coppermine, but the way the www works and your browser works.

http://grdxc.info/grdxc-picturegallery/ is down and returns a custom 404 message, so I guess this problem can be closed. Please resolve your thread.

Hello Gau gau,

Just one last clarification.

Is it possible that even images, audio will open in new window, depending on the browser or will they open in same window only ?

As a result of docs opening in new window I have discarded docs albums as the gallery is a closed group.

Thanks for all the help.

Did you upgrade? It is really simple and should not take you long. I read above that you installed from your hosts cpanel, these are often buggy and it is something we cannot recommend.

If you have not upgraded do so now as per this section of the docs.

http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#14

As long as you have not made any custom code changes you should not loose anything. If you run into any problems start a new thread in the relavent section of the forum.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Possible if you code it, but not recommended, as needlessly opening new windows will drive visitors away. As suggested: upgrade first. We're not ready to discuss custom hacks if you don't upgrade.
