Is there a way to disable users to create albums?  I have 10 albums I created as admin and I want users to choose from the albums available, NOT create new ones.  I don't want users to have access to create albums at all.  Is this possible?

Joachim Müller

Sure. Go to the groups control panel and disallow the group in question (usually "Registered") to have a "Personal gallery", because a personal gallery is the place where non-admins can create albums. Only allow your users to upload into public albums, i.e. albums that you as admin have created. Use the album properties dialog to specify what particular public albums are meant to be used as target for uploads for your users. Changing all those permissions around will not remove the personal albums that your users already have created so far, so you'll have to take care of them by deleting them. If you need to keep the contents of those albums, move the contents into public albums first.
Not very surprisingly, this has been asked and answered many times over. In fact it has been asked so often that we even wrote it down and added what we wrote down to the package that you have downloaded to install coppermine. We called what we downloaded "documentation" and even added a link to an online copy of that documentation to the top of this screen. We added something else to this board called "board rules" and you must have seen them before, because that's what you accepted to respect when you signed up. So why don't you re-read those board rules now and do as suggested there before you decide to post again? Thanks.

Thanks for the info
