Custom Image Descriptions

I would like to see a feature which allows an admin to set up a series of many descriptors per image.  (i.e. a standard setup based on the category)  These descriptors would be ideally sortable and searchable.

My application is for a database of train photos.  I want to have a field where I can add what railroad the train is from,   what running number the locomotive is, and what type of locomotive it is, etc... for each photo.

I did search the forum and I can't seem to find anything related to this.  I am sorry if perhaps I am not using the correct phrases?
