Confused about private galleries

When I click on the Private Galleries link, all I get is a blank page. Yet if someone uploads a image to their own private gallery, I can view those images. Ideally what I would like is if you click on Private Galleries, it shows a list of the galleries and whether or not they can be viewed. Also to give the user the option of making their galleries viewable or not. Is this possible?

If  I can't figure it out, I don't know how my users will :(
