Moving coppermine from my apps folder

I know this might be a dumb question, but i can not seem to find the answer... I am using a mac, and want to move my whole coppermine folder out of my apps folder and into my public folder. Now, I made the move with a simple copy and paste action. Problem is... when i use safari to access my database it tells me i dont have permission. I am wanting to make the change to the public folder for the simple fact that is the folder i share with in my network. What am i doing wrong?
