Counting Hits by Thumbnails not Fullsize display

Hello , In an album when all thumbnails of photos are displayed, clicking on thumbnails takes us to the image display page. Could someone tell me if we can count hits by clicking on thumbnails instead going to full size image display.

Please someone would tell me how can I do that
