Hello,

I've recently upgrade my CPG from version 1.4.x to 1.5.x.

When I try to upload a new image in a album, I can't find the function to do it from a "http url".

In 1.4.x this was possible. Now in 1.5.x can I do that?

Thank you very much.

Correct. That feature was dropped in cpg1.5.x. Has already been discussed in this board some time ago.

Hi !!!

Was that any particular/safety/security reason to exclude a possibility to upload pictures directly from URLs ??? ... I was using this function a lot in previous versions and now I have to save some photos from Internet on my Hard Drive and then Upload it to the Gallery ... could be much easier if this option will be available. Admin may decide to activate this Upload option for all users or just to keep it for Administrators ...

I really would like to see this function in the next releases !!!

Please, think again ... and, if possible, include this excellent option to the next release ... unless that was some particular/safety/security reason ;)

and Thanx a million for your cool Gallery !!!

Please read http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,64556.0.html - maybe you can use the 'bug'.

Αndré - thanx for very fast reply !!!

I am totally aware that URL Upload is not just linking to an image from another site. I have a Pay Host with Unlimited space ... so, I "don't care" about images being transfered to the Gallery.

Yes, I was using this function a lot before ... but cannot do it now.

Thanx for the second link ... I have tested ... if to press Browse button and enter an Image URL - yes, it will be uploaded to the Gallery ... magic !!! ... but using only single file interface - will not be used in this way ... will be easier to save all images from Internet on Hard Drive and then use Flash upload of multiple files ...

Well ... really really sad that this Upload option doesn't exist anymore  :'(

Thanx again for your reply ;-))

Regards,
Alexey
